Biography
I grew up in a small town in Fluvanna County about an hour outside of Richmond, VA. I lived there most of my life with my mom, dad, older sister, and our two dogs. I began working when I was 15 years old, doing all different types of jobs such as, a cart girl at a country club, a retail assistant at my local Marshall’s, a lifeguard at a public pool, and a waitress at Cubbies, a small diner located in Greenville, NC. I enjoy working and have learned something valuable in all my jobs.
When I was in the 5th grade, I wrote a report on “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I stated that I was going to be a “corporate sophisticate” working at a law firm while living in a “sky rise” apartment in New York. After I graduated from college, I didn’t make it to New York but I moved to Charlotte, NC having never been here before. I began my legal career working for Kennedy Law Associates (KLA) as a paralegal. I still plan to go to law school one day, and I believe my experiences at KLA will help me achieve that goal.
I believe in fighting for people that do not have a voice and I believe working as a paralegal and one day as an attorney, I will be able to help people fight injustices. I never had an interest in family law rather I planned to focus more on corporate law, but now that I have seen and worked in family law, I find this area of law to be extremely rewarding. I want to build a career that will make a difference and challenges me to help people in a meaningful way.

Professional Associations and Memberships
Growing up, I was always involved in some sort of sporting activity whether it was soccer, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, track, and even t-ball for a season. As I got older, I played soccer and volleyball at my high school as well as travel leagues which took up most of my weekends and I was also the women’s jv and varsity basketball manager from 6th grade to 12th grade as their bookkeeper. I received a volleyball scholarship my junior year from a division 2 program where I accepted the offer to play at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. I loved being a part of the athletic program but unfortunately the school’s atmosphere was a bit too small for my personal liking and I knew that I wanted to pursue law school one day, so I decided to point my focus in that direction which is what lead me to ECU.
Once I arrived at ECU, I attributed a lot of my time in college to studying, working a part time job at another law firm specifically focusing in the areas of guardianships and estate planning, while also involving myself in various clubs such as the Delta Zeta sorority, PRSSA, SAC, and the Pre-Law Society. I mainly attended sorority events that fundraised for our philanthropy which was the Starkey Hearing Foundation, our biggest event being Hot Dogs for Hearing.
